First, let me apologize for missing last week. I was out of town doing some awesome things! I traveled to Nashville (actually Franklin, TN) to record four songs and do a photoshoot. It was really an amazing experience.
My initial reason for going to Nashville was to see my favorite band perform at the Ryman Auditorium. The recording studio was scheduled later.
I arrived at the studio on Friday the 27th and started recording the songs the very next morning. The Nashville session players arrived bright and early and finished all of the music for the four songs within 2 hours, even with last minute changes that had to be made. They were absolutely incredible. I did the vocals on one song later that day. On Sunday, I rested and then drove into Nashville (about 30 minutes away) for the concert the following night. I went to the meet and greet and was able to get my cd to the band members. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay for the show. I think that the stress from travel, along with the extremely cold weather that I am not accustomed to, were the main culprits. I became very angry with myself for not staying, but I did what I needed to do for my own health.
The next day I went back to the studio and recorded vocals for all three remaining songs. That is something I've never been able to do, but I did it! On Wednesday I had my photoshoot and the following morning, I started the trip back home, after the thick sheet of ice on my windshield thawed out.
Now that I am back at home, I have decided to really focus on taking care of myself, my health and my life in general. I am taking steps to improve my breathing, making the necessary appointments, and really taking it seriously. I can't wait for my massage tomorrow!
I believe that being proactive is helping me feel better already.
You have to take care of yourself and your health. Once your health is gone, everything else can seem impossible. I wouldn't wish this struggle on anyone.
I am living my dream, but not without obstacles. I have to just keep finding ways to overcome them. I'm on my way.
Kristi
